ARD is Hiring Trainers for Tailoring and Art & Craft to Empower Refugees with Disabilities and Their Caregivers

The Association of Refugees with Disability (ARD) is excited to announce a new project aimed at empowering refugees with disabilities and their caregivers through hands-on skills training. This initiative is generously funded by Young African Refugees for Integral Development (YARID), an organization dedicated to supporting refugees’ well-being, development, and integration.

As part of this project, ARD is hiring 4 trainers—2 in Tailoring and 2 in Art & Craft—who will provide specialized training to refugees with disabilities and their caregivers. This 6-month program seeks to enhance vocational skills, create sustainable livelihoods, and foster a sense of inclusion within the refugee community. The training will focus on practical skills that can be used for income generation, further helping participants to achieve economic independence.

About the Project:
This project is a vital part of ARD’s broader mission to improve the lives of refugees with disabilities, ensuring they have access to opportunities for skill development and social inclusion. With funding from YARID, this program will provide essential resources, tools, and training facilities, empowering individuals to become self-reliant and to support their families.

By focusing on skills in tailoring and art & craft, this initiative targets fields that offer immediate potential for income generation, even within the refugee setting. The trainers will play a crucial role in equipping participants with the knowledge and skills they need to produce marketable goods and become active contributors to their communities.

Who Should Apply:
ARD invites qualified and passionate individuals with expertise in Tailoring or Art & Craft to apply for these trainer positions. We especially encourage persons with disabilities to apply, as we aim to model inclusivity not only in our participants but also in our team.

This project will have a lasting impact, helping refugees with disabilities gain the skills necessary for economic independence, while fostering a sense of dignity and self-worth. ARD is proud to collaborate with YARID on this important initiative, and together, we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of refugees with disabilities and their caregivers.
